tbh I consider Money trees as his best song to date, and I don't expect him to top it (seriously) :flutter:

yeah Money trees is definitely one of the best songs kendrick has ever written but theres a few street slangs that may not be obvious to all listeners.
Theres no way you can make a top Kendrick songs without mentioning Money trees tbh

#facts Image

when the album leaked, there were a ton of threads about this song :worship:

Tde & kendrick shot a video for this song because fans asked Top Dawg to release it as a single but a few weeks later he said it was too long to become a radio hit...

What the fuck is wrong with you ? Almost every line is classic and there is an official wesbsite which explores the different meanings of the Ya-Bish

The song is full of deep lines, metaphors, wordplays, compton references and hood knowledge :coffee:

Btw, the second part of m.A.A.D. City samples A Bird In The Hand from Ice Cube :flutter:

I'm still talking about the lyrics only. I could give a flying fuck about all the hidden metaphor's lol .. so If this website was never made, and you wouldn't know the meaning behind the lines, would it still be that good lol .. that's like saying I need to read something first to like the music. Shit is funnier than that gambino script.

Fact is, the song lyrically, is nothing special. We could go on and talk about the music itself but that's subjective.

yeah because metaphors have nothing to do with lyricism ?

second or third most lyrical song on the album Image

Also you didn't understand what he said Image

Sing about me AND Money trees are the reasons why many people called this album a classic, no other song on the album elevate the album like that Image

if you don't have money trees in your top 3 kendrick songs then you're like an eminem fan who doesn't have lose yourself in his top 3 Image

lyrically, money trees is probably even better than sing about me...

It goes Halle Berry, or Hallelujah. One of my faves from the album.

"The one in front of the gun lives forever" whew.

On topic, m.A.A. City is dope. I really like the second half; like someone else said, the instrumental switch is fucking sick.

If I told you I killed a nigga at 16, would you believe me?
Or see me to be innocent Kendrick you seen in the street
With a basketball and some Now and Laters to eat
If I mentioned all of my skeletons, would you jump in the seat?
Would you say my intelligence now is great relief?
And it's safe to say that our next generation maybe can sleep
With dreams of being a lawyer or doctor, instead of boy with a chopper
That hold the cul-de-sac hostage, kill 'em all if they gossip
The Children of the Corn, they vandalizing
The option of living a lie, drown their body with toxins
Constantly drinking and drive, hit the powder then watch this flame
That arrive in his eye, this a coward, the concept is aim
And they bang it and slide out that bitch with deposits
A price on his head, the tithes probably go to the projects
I live inside the belly of the rough
Compton, U.S.A. made Me an Angel on Angel Dust
stardd fom da badam nau wui jer
stardd fom da badam nau mai jol tim ids fakin jir

Money Trees is amazing, love it.

Not sure it's a top 3 Kendrick song though, but definitely top 5.
