This is my favorite song on MBDTF and probably my favorite Kanye West song of all time. No exaggeration, I can still remember the very first time I listened to this song and the feeling I had--something that I can only say the same for a handful of songs. It immediately hit me with emotions. To me, it captures the sense of depth that is featured across the entire album.
Not only does the song show a love-hate relationship more vividly than any other song I've ever listened to, but the icing on the cake to end all is the closing segment featuring Chris Rock. The whole skit and how it fits in with the rest of the song is a work of art--as dark as it is humorous--and I think it takes a certain kind of masterpiece to interplay the two so well. When I listen to it to this day, I don't know if I'm supposed to laugh at what Chris says, feel bad for Kanye, be creeped out, etc. etc. and I feel like that was the point.
No pun intended, but it's beautiful and twisted. (Ok pun intended.)
