recording techniques?

would anyone be able to tell me what type of recording techniques are used on various albums, i.e vocal techniques? thanks

Don't autotune. That's the best advice I can give you.

I read somehwere a long time ago that Shady records himself spitting the same verse 3 times. One in a soft voice, once in his normal voice, and one in an angry voice; followed by running them all on top of eachother. See if this works well for you -- I prefer just using 2 layers. But everybody's voice is different. So just experiement.
