just remember where u put it.. it aint hard, plus, they all got little differences and diff locks..

but what the hell does having different speeds actually do? how the hell does it make you go faster on a bike?

the different speeds are essentially changing the resistance when you pedal. so if 1 is the most resistance and 7 is the least, than having it at the 1st speed will require more effort when pedaling. thus more effective. likewise putting it on 7 would require little effort, making it easier going up hills.
