But, more realistic, it's the strongest wish of well possible. Kind of mysterious.

The answers aren't, but the question surely is.

Why do people feel affectionate towards certain things? Not just their 'lover', parents, friends, sports teams, countries.

I'm sure a lineup of PHDs in psychology, biology, physics and medicine would give about 100 different answers, each confusing as shit.

Love must be something vital to survival though. Virtually every person on the planet experiences the emotion. Natural selection says, if its something everyone has, its something everyone needs.

Love is a word girls throw around because of their chromosomes and a word men use to get sex and keep their girlfriend happy. An interchangable word that everyone uses for the significant other they have at the time; 90% of the time they say this to each other, split up in a couple of months and then move on to the next and repeat, never seeming to care that they used the same word for every other partner they had. Only in rare cases where the relationship exceeds bullshit amounts of time do i think the word actually means something, but even then there are better ways to show you care about someone than writing "iloveyou xx" on their Facebook wall every night.
