lol i know, but it didnt really affect me at all. I took my sisters Marshall Mathers LP, had a listen to Kill You and i was like "Woahhhh. Coooool!" Eventually she gave it to me and i completely got into Eminem (woah not the perverted way!). And many years later, i am now here. Listening not to only Eminem but other great rappers.

In my case, I just happened to watch MTV at the time I heard "My Name Is". Before I heard that, I wasn't even into music at all actually, but "My Name Is" had me hooked on it. Than I got more and more into hip hop and now I listen to pretty only hip hop. So if it were a black dude who made "My Name Is", it probably would've had the same outcome in my love for hip hop.

I had been told that Eminem was a bad guy, he rapped about very bad things and cursed a lot. At that time I didn't really like music in general but one day when I saw The Real Slim Shady I really liked it and I started listening to Eminem just as I started listening to other dudes cause I got into Hip Hop.

Now that I think of it I had the Kid Rock album before I heard The Real Slim Shady, and that was basically rap, so must have really been that bawidaba song or whatever, you all know what it is.

how revealing. kinda funny how you guys from United Stated think that everything spreads with lightspeed. he was probably the first rapper who made such a big commercial succes, wasn't he? and it was different in the Europe than in the USA. especially in 90's in countries like Poland, which had just became a totally democratic country. so don't make such a big deal of the fact that someone started to listen to rap after he saw 'My Name Is' video in the TV. i did, so what?
