So I kind of just stopped caring as much but still to this day have never put it completely away, I still always have a deck in my hands and intend on going back to it when I have time. And I pretty much exclusively did card magic but the basic psychology of a lot of card tricks applies to pretty much any kind of mentalist or psychological magic routine you'll often see, so I was a student of it.
So here's a few of my videos which I want to share, to see how you guys react...
Change Extraordinaire
The Invisible Palm
A Basic Card Trick...
Momentary Illusion
I basically sucked fucking ass at... creating a persona for myself. I was good at handling cards and actual technique... but I couldn't figure out how to present it as myself in a natural and entertaining way, I'd always sound so awkward and... not like me. So it's the equivalent of like an underground rapper being great at putting rhymes together but not knowing how to shape it artistically.
Anyway, would be interested in how the videos look to you guys, they're years old and I'm quite a bit better now, even without practice, as you just get more naturally fluid the longer you do it. I'm thinking about going back to it but I don't think I'm interested in doing it professionally now... I think I'll just try to become one of the greatest card handlers ever and just go back to total solitary practice and try and contribute through sheer technique... or maybe I might figure out a way to present it, since I was so young (11-17/18) back then - the most awkward years.
I'm 23 now so could probably talk and present it more naturally...
To any of you who may be a fan of magic or who like my videos, feel free to subscribe to that channel, as I'll slowly be getting back in to it and adding a lot more performances soon
