Travelling Europe by train - What places to see?

Postby NextEpisode » Aug 9th, '14, 18:11

So I'm moving to Italy in September... And instead of taking a plane down there (from Sweden), I thought I'd make a 'trip' out of it --> I'm going to travel by train, over a period of 14 days.

Anyone got any advice or tips for interesting cities/places to see?

Start : Stockholm, Sweden
Stop : Venice, Italy.

I want to visit some city in ...
* ... Germany, probably Berlin.
* ... Netherlands, probably Amsterdam.
* ... France, probably Paris.
* ... Spain, probably Madrid.
* ... Switzerland.
* ... Austria, probably Vienna.

Thanks :b:

Ok, cool :y: You from Switzerland?

Any specific places in Geneva you recommend? I know UN headquarters are located there - might go see that place.

I agree, Barcelona is a lot more interesting than Madrid. The architecture, places, all....

I pretty much only visit Madrid for work stuff or concerts. But never to do tourism.

Oh no no no, honey. :shakehead:

I must say I go to Madrid quite often, mostly for work , but also to concerts and stuff, and i'm not able to enjoy the city like I do with Barcelona, in Bcn there is always something to do/see. Also the architecture is much much better.

Maybe I didn't go to the right places in Madrid.

I went to Art school in Basel, ive been to Art Basel a couple of times. :)
