The Diary - Scarface

Postby Relapse.LP » Jan 7th, '10, 00:58

Thoughts on one of the few classics the South got? The Diary by Scarface. :b:

The production is ill, IMO, and the lyrics are tight, but the best part of the album is Scarface's almost impeccable delivery. It's savage, but manages to keep a certain "human" part in the song, which just makes the overall thing plain dope.

Peep the lead single if you don't believe me. I Seen a Man Die - Scarface. :worship:

EDIT: Don't comment if you're going to flame. :n:
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/

plus Ice Cube was on that song, what more could you ask for?

goin' down has one of the weirdest beats iv ever heard tho, only scarface could make it sound tight.

Always one of the first albums I show to any people who mindlessly hate Southern rap, because of the newer rappers coming from there nowadays. :b:

I haven't listened to this album, I do think The Fix was great, really liked that album. :y: So I'm guessing this is really worth checking out then.

Great album, might be Faces best, but ''the World is Yours'' is up with it, mainly because of ''Now I Feel Ya''

The South has alot of great albums, shame its being respresented in the way it is today
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
