^ Oh well, I guess the accent is the reason why so many people 'reject(ed)' Relapse.

I liked Relapse as a concept album but I don't want him to continue on the same killing raping etc... If anything it just seems really forced because he's not a crazy psycho whatever..

Never said it didn't. I don't like the constant murder tales or accent  But you just appreciate the thought he put behind making it a full concept album.
Now he has to make an album that has a good concept & isn't repetitive and full of murder!VARIETY :o

I respect many people, although dislike them. :b:

Okay, to be honest, Relapse isn't that bad. It's clever and witty and all that, but I just can't exactly listen to it fully. I appreciate that it's trying to go back to the good ol' rhyming and putting effort into your records, but as far as pure enjoyability, nothing technical, it falls short, IMO. :(

How about songs with excessive mentions of rape/murder/torture? :shakehead:

Or songs that talk about absolutely nothing? (Peeps Underground) :n:

it's called a character lol. al pacino is not a cuban druglord either.

Yeah I know I'm just saying that it's hard to believe. Like I don't believe that he's some thug but he can do a song like Soldier and make it sound good/ be believable. I guess I just feel like this was something cool for him to try for an album, not to incorporate it into all of his music.

I know what you mean. I mean, it's good that he was rhyming good again, especially considering previous years (2004+). But the content was just...constant murder tales, it just didn't feel like regular Slim Shady, it was more of a murderous psychopath instead of a crazy, off the wall, funny yet weird white guy. But people do give it more flak than it deserves. It's a decent album, just not one that gets much replay value except for a few songs. Which is why, considering what he's released since then (except for 85% of Refill), I have hopes for R2, because it seems he's straying away from murderous tales and goofy accents and is still very lyrical. :y:

3 AM, Stay Wide Awake, Same Song & Dance. are the main ones
Underground, Hello, and Bagpipes From Baghdad. are the sub-ones
Must Be The Ganja, My Mom, Insane, Medicine Ball, We Made You, Crack A Bottle, and Old Time's Sake all have drug, raping or killing references.
Beautiful and Deja Vu are clean. :y:

he sounded truly psychotic in "Kim" & '97 Bonnie & Clyde. when i heard those songs i half-believed he actually killed his wife :confusion:

Exactly! Like when I hear the the sslp I actually believe the dudes crazy. He just didn't seem to hit it again like that on Relapse. I blame the drugs.

I think he was trying too hard on Relapse to be crazy. And the "Slim Shady" in Relapse just didn't "feel" like the crazy slim shady we liked in the SSLP & MMLP.

I agree. He knew that people wanted Shady back, but he gave them too much of Shady.

No that's not a fact. That's an opinion.

It doesn't suck to me and there's more than one accent. He uses it to bend words and make the wordplay / symmetry of rhyming more emphasized.

Sounds awesome to me on most stuff like "3AM" and "Buffalo Bill"

The accent really works in Stay Wide Awake and Buffalo Bill. Classic shit right there. Its dope as fuck in those songs but I'll concede that it was overused in Relapse 1.
