I went through his whole discography, and wow, he is fuckin' amazing. I find myself listening to his shit wayyyy more than Em, too. Just listen to Me Against the World, for me, I don't know how anyone can top that. This dude was way ahead of his time. In the end, I think it depends on what you look for in music. Some dudes will like Em more simply because they relate to him. Some relate to Pac more. I won't go over every single point, because there is no point. But for me, they're tied. If you want hardcore lyrics/punchlines, go listen to Slaughterhouse, but understand that sick rhymes aren't everything.
For me, it's all about if the music is easy on my ears. I don't give a fuck if it's Lady Gaga or Elvis, if my ears like it, I like it. I never understood people who are like "I'M SO HARDCORE, I LISTEN TO UNDERGROUND SHIT YEAAAA, WICKED SHIT". Fuck outta here with that shit. I don't give a fuck how poetic and complex the lyrics are on Relapse, the shit makes my ears bleed.
ALSO, I'd rather take real rappers like Nas, Jay, Big, and Pac over a gimmick like "Slim Shady". Thank god Em showed he had the skills to transform into anything he wanted. He overcame that shit, "applaud em".
Okay, think whatever you like, but why are you on an Eminem forum if you don't even like him? Sounds to me like you don't, especially the "gimmick like Slim Shady" part. If you think that, you probably didn't like him from the beginning, since he's been Slim Shady since 98-99. And Jay a REAL rapper? He's as fake as they come, he fell off since American Gangster. At least Encore, Shady's worst album, was a decent rap album. All Jay does is brag about himself, he gives a shit about no one but money. That's how it is. I like some of Jay's music, but to say he's a more "real" rapper than Eminem is an insult to hip-hop fans, it's like you just slapped hip-hop in the face with that statement. Eminem is more real today than he's ever been, he's rapping about what he wants to rap about, and Relapse is the least mainstream album he's ever made, except We Made You and Beautiful, all the rest of the songs are too explicit for radio. Even 3AM is not proper for radio, really. Relapse slaughters BP3, every song is so much better than Jay's songs on that album, BP3 is weak and a true representation of a rapper who sold out. Nas, Big, and Pac are about the only people close to Em's level, but Jay is nowhere near it, I'm sorry, but that's fact. Get out of this forum if you don't like Eminem, seriously, you're retarded if you stay in here and just bag on him

Hey buddy, why don't you try and learn how to read. Do you fools read posts or do you just skim through it?
I said Pac and Eminem are tied as my favorites, so how is that saying I don't like Em? Dumbass.
Secondly, how exactly did Jay fall off since American Gangster? One album ago? So eight albums back to back and a few classics and you can write him off, off of one album you didn't like? What about the 10 other albums you probably havent even gave a listen?
Encore was a disappointment, and so was Relapse. So did Em fall off since 8 Mile? Fuck outta here son. And don't say, "oh well I like Relapse". Oh yeah? Well I like BP3 so shut the hell up then. Did you also see that I said that "some people look for different things in music" or did your eyes glide right past that, too?
And whether you like it or not, "Slim Shady", the alter-ego, and the serial killer alter-ego ARE gimmicks. And I also said Em had the skills to show that he overcame that shit, why do you think he dropped TES?

He ropes in a bunch of features; picks strong singles and videos with popular singers and he's got every1 fooled thinking he is the shit. Well, his skill isnt what it used to be and his hype last year was all smoke and mirrors. IMO, his last 3 albums have been disposable (American Gangster perhaps average at best) and he should have defientely exited the game after The Black Album.
Well if you say something like that then Eminem doing anything but talking about killing people and Biggie just talked about hustlin, and Pac just was angry and yelling over all of his songs, and Nas just talks about Africa and rhymes a lot...
I thought American Gangster was dope, maybe you just aren't able to understand what he says and raps about. I can. BP3 was dope as fuck to me too, he was actually making music that had replay value. Relapse didn't really have too many songs that you could replay over and over again.
