He is proud not ashamed. Proud that he beat the addiction. An addiction to pain meds is the toughest thing to beat because its physically AND mentally addicting. Most other narcotics are physically addicting and the withdrawal symptoms can be deadly. But outlasting some pain and some minor sickness is NOTHING compared to the will power it takes to beat your brain telling you you need them. To the point that the drugs are the only thing on your mind when you dont have them. And when you do get them, you aren't getting high anymore, you are just brought back to normal operation.

The addiction is so powerful, it is not a matter of will power, it is a matter of who you have around you and hobbies and interests in your life that can keep your brain off of the drugs. Basically keeping yourself busy at all times. A very low percentage of people can beat an addiction to pain meds, but a very high percentage of people who beat it, go on to help others and openly talk about it.

I don't even think that requires an explanation.
An addiction is a weakness, and a weakness is nothing to be proud of.

If you dont like this type of questions then you should probably just go ahead and leave the forum fucker.

Take a look at the eminem section. Right about now its 80 percent speculation.

He's not talking shit he's right. Why would anyone be proud they were a drug addict? Proud of getting over it, of course, but that goes without saying it too.

I think he's proud of the fact he overcame it? But probably not of it actually happening obviously lol

Alright, But again, I did say in one of my posts that I was fucked up when I wrote the thread and I didnt word myself correctly.

does he miss it. Like, even though he cant do it, and it did many bad things to him and his family in the long run....Does he miss not being able to party all fucked up on shit , and tour fucked up on shit, and write songs and record great albums all fucked up on shit.

Theres a reason why he spent most of his life on drugs....He enjoyed them enough to abuse them. To say he doesnt wish he could still do that would be to contradict the word "addict" itself.

Thats the point I was trying to get at in the first place.

Fair enough :y: . Theres a difference between using them occasionly on tours to get buzzed to not being able to go by a day without craving for one. My dad was an alcoholic (before I was born) and he's told me that he would do anything for a drink, like Em would just take pills constantly.

He's said in interviews he hates that side of him. Thats one of the reasons he got rid of the blonde hair as it reminded him of a side of himself he hated.

Agreed, but, I feel he knew it's not something you can just pretend never happened, so he embraced, and at the same time even if it shows weakness, the mans never gave a fuck what anyone else thought of him ;)

llock, you blamed other members for making stupid topics, and now you make this. How can someone be proud of his/her addiction? It just doesn't make sense.
