Interscope won't let a D12 album hit the shelves unless Eminem is on almost all of the songs...and they can't release an independent album because they're still officially signed to Interscope

If both cases are true, then perhaps the theory that some sort of listening session took place is true. Obviously its difficult to tell if both stories are indeed factual, but if they are then its more than a coincidence. Some songs have to be circulating around Interscope, in addition to Just Blaze playing his friends some tracks.
