Well, the word alien just means foreigner and I know they exist. Anybody outside of my country is a foreigner to me and I to them so yes, I believe in myself and them.
Seriously though, that word induces an often mocked idea of a googly eyed green blob creature so I'd rather put it differently.
If you were to say, do I believe there are other lifeforms in the Universe, I'd say yes. Absolutely.
In fact I'd say it's almost ridiculous to think there isn't. We know life is rare. Most of the other planets in our solar system alone are either too hot or too cold to inhibit life. But our little solar system is of course not a spec in the universe itself.
All you have to believe to believe that there are lifeforms outside of our current realm of exploration is that our conditions which allow for life have happened elsewhere. OR that there are lifeforms and / or conditions which we have no idea about and maybe our lifeform is one of thousands.
With the sheer size of the Universe, it's very unlikely we're alone. There could be entire civilizations having the exact same conversations. More intelligent, less intelligent, light-years ahead, galaxies apart. No idea. But I think it'd be silly to say NO.
