I mean the original is still a class but this movie does well matching it.

Sorry dude the original Karate Kid is one of my all-time favorites movies and i refuse to watch a remake with little bitch's son as the main character and Chan as Myagi. Maybe when it comes on HBO or whatever next year ill check it out but no way going to the theatre. The thing that makes the original so good is that it had the authentic 80's feel to it that is impossible to duplicate in the remake.

....yea thats exactly how i felt but i decided to tag along with some buds and ended up loving the movie, it has been a great success and offers so many similarities to the original with a 'twist' on the ending

I hated the idea, but went to watch it and here's my opinion. Don't look at it as a remake and enjoy it as it's own movie. Yes there are a lot of similarities, but there are enough differences that it would have been a good movie without being a remake of Karate Kid. I can say it's definitely one of Jackie Chan's better recent films and Jaden Smith is a pretty decent actor for a kid.

I would never watch that fucking disgrace to what IMO was a classic flick and it fit in perfectly with that mid 80's theme when it was filmed. First off i hate that little prick (Smith's son) in the role of the main character and from the previews, the overall plot just looks hideous. Whats fucking next? A Goonies remake or how about a Back To The Future remake? Fucking faggots need to leave the classic's alone.
