-Yeah Britney Spears didn't bring any controversy with her "slutty" image.
-Lady Gaga never stirred up anything with exposing her vagina and boobs in a music video
-Madonna never touched controversy when she was blasphemous against the Christians

All pop stars, all controversy.

Eminem IS a pop star. You can be both a pop star and a rock star at the same time. The trick is to get commercial radio air play, but at the same time have content out for your hardcore and traditional fans so everyone is pleased. That way you sell records and keep your fans satisfied.

I was referring to his lyrics and the use of the word fag, and getting his music taken off radio stations and music shows. Never really herd of pop stars using the sort of language and lyrics he used / uses.
Trying to tell me his a pop star, u might as well go talk to ur local brick wall man

Even "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me" are a bit corny, but their credible compared to those four above.

I said it at the time, and I'll say it again.....Not Afraid is Eminem's first ever 'first' single that is credible. Its his best ever first single too.

The Real Slim Shady, Without Me & My Name Is are all more credible songs than Not Afraid.

My Name Is is his introduction to shady with some nice rhyming and his witty touches

The Real Slim Shady looks at issues of censorship, celebrity and the fact there's a bad guy in everyone through humour and satire.

Without Me looks at how his life has become a show and the people who have criticised him through humour

Not Afraid looks at the issue of breaking back into the game from his addiction and last two albums through terrible metaphors and cheesy corny cliche, while describing how leveing the game is like shitting his bowels

I take his first 3 lead singles more seriously than Not Afraid. I prefer We Made You to Not Afraid but I wouldnt say I take it as seriously or credibly.

Just Lose It is his worst song of all time, less said the better.

And why did you say majority of his singles are facepalm yet you only put 4 singles? How is that the majority? And if your only talking lead singles why is Ass Like That there?

Putting Rihanna on a track doesn't make him a pop star at all. He is a pop star, because he's classified under that title, but his music is not pop. Relapse was the least pop album I've ever heard that was as successful as it was in 09. Love The Way You Lie is a pop song, but it's good nonetheless. You should dismiss an artist for making a song good AND catchy as well. Lil Wayne and Drake, that's bubblegum rap. Eminem still manages to spit fire and make good tunes. He makes catchy music, but that's just to grab your attention. There's nothing wrong with that. Recovery is just another step in his amazing career, he's had a great career, you gotta admit. Recovery is his most commercial album, but it's always regarded as his true comeback album. He still doesn't go soft, even though the music itself is different, the lyrics are still fire. He might have calmed down a great load, but I'd rather have a sober mature Em that people take seriously than the immature guy who everyone loved the hate

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Not saying he is or isn't a pop artist, but what's this idea that anything that's classified as "pop music" is automatically shitty? Just a bunch of snobby musical elitist cunterry imo.

That's like categorizing him with Hannah Montana. :confusion:

Much like the phrase "rock star," I think the meaning of "pop star" has now gone beyond just the genre of pop music. I think rap star, rock star, and pop star are all acceptable tags for Em.
