Lay down drums? :confusion:

He usually hums an original melody for the Bass Bros. Programs the drums, often adds piano / strings. People who say all his beats sound a like or he's a simple producer clearly don't listen to his beats very closely. How the fuck does say... "Square Dance" sound like "Lose Yourself" or "Marshall Mathers".

He makes unforgettable melodies IMO. If I try think of a Dre beat off top of my head, in terms of hearing it inside my head all I can think of is "Forgot About Dre". Most of his shit is just loud and thumping.

Where as I can think of a ton of Em's immediately; "The Way I Am", "Criminal", "Cleaning Out My Closet", "Without Me", "Renegade"... The music comes to mind straight away. I think he's a much more original producer. I also think if he didn't rap and wasn't who he was on the mic he would get way more credit as one.

Then you reallyyyyyyy need to listen to some more Hip Hop dude.

And for the record, whilst ES is my favourite Em album, and the best produced, Em has struggled with producing since then, and i'd even go as far as saying half of his beats have been in the realms of 'weak'.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

[quote="EminemBase"]^ Well I would very much like him to think of a good concept album.

However fuck no should Dre produce it. Em should produce it himself. TES is easily his best produced album, he moulds his beats to fit his flows. Dre's beats ruin them.quote]

I've ALWAYS said this. He makes the beat to fit the song, who better to produce his next album than himself? That way, he doesn't have to write lyrics around someone else's beat

I hope in 2011 we'll get another album, but who really knows?

Eminem is extremely overrated when it comes to producing. The only beats he has made that comes close to the class of legendary producers such as Kanye, Pete Rock and Dre are Lose yourself and Like toy soldiers, and those two obviously have heavy co-producing. They are miles ahead anything else he has made.

If 'Forgot about dre' is the only track that you can think then it is not Dre who is the problem. After all, he has produced tons of beats for great artists. Isn't Square dance a "loud" beat?

I have no idea why some people think it makes the album better when he produces it himself. As if he is some holy god behind the board.

People who say all his beats sound a like or he's a simple producer clearly don't listen to his beats very closely. How the fuck does say... "Square Dance" sound like "Lose Yourself" or "Marshall Mathers".

How does The Next episode and Insane sound the same? Same logic.

Do you really consider "Marshall Mathers" an Eminem beat?

Nah, Shady's beats are awesome. There's not a single beat from him that I don't like. There's a lot of substance in them, if you take the time to hear every sound in his beats you'll appreciate it more. Check out Starin' Through The Rearview by 2Pac, Em produced it and it has a lot of depth

At this stage of his career I think Kanye West would be the perfect choice for Eminem to start working with. Not only could he give him a new sound but he could also advise him on some lyrical ideas for the album which I personally think he needs. Most of Recovery sounded like something that would fit the first four albums (which all had similar themes, more or less) to me.

Kanye West and Eminem would be the closest hip hop will ever get to Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson.
