So, did DMX diss Eminem on "Party up?

Postby Rindain1 » Nov 11th, '10, 05:21

Yeah, yeah this is 10/11 year old question, but I never really figured it out...It sure sounds like a diss - bolded parts are particularly relevant:

And I don't know who the fuck you think you talkin to but I'm not him, aight Slim?
So watch what you do

.
.
.
First of all, you ain't rapped long enough to be fuckin with me
and you, you ain't strong enough
So whatever it is you puffin on that got you think that you
Superman
I got the Kryptonite, should I smack him with my dick and the mic?
Y'all niggaz is characters, not even good actors
What's gon' be the outcome?
Hmm, let's add up all the factors
You wack, you're twisted, your girl's a hoe
You're broke, the kid ain't yours, and e'rybody know
Your old man say you stupid, you be like,
"So? I love my baby mother, I never let her go"

I'm tired of weak ass niggaz whinin over pussy that don't belong to them,
fuck is wrong with them?

He also says the "So? I love my baby mother, I never let her go" line in a voice that seems to parody Em's.

Anyone know for sure?

Revolutionary wrote:Yes he did, and Em dissed him first(i think).
But they were only references, not meant to start a beef.

Anyone know what Em said/did to start the "beef?" (even though it seems it never became a real beef)?

Superman and acting parts wouldn't make sense because DMX released this song in his 1999 album "And Then There Was X" before Em acted in 8 Mile or made the song Superman.

No I don't think he was dissin Em there. First of all they did a track together and also I think if ANY rapper mentioned Em's daughter back then he woulda gona sick on them.

Hmmm i actually looked into these beefs Em had.At first i was like no way DMX dissed Em,they are cool. But then it seems he did.DMX was in Murder Inc with Ja Rule and we all know ja-Em beef.So probably DMX was standing up for Ja back then. Then he "changed" his mind and thought Ja was biting off his style,so he started beefing with Ja and got on Em's side. That's how i see this little feud.Cause Em never really responded back as he didn't want beef with DMX. :smoking:

Yeah, but this song was released in 1999, way before Em had even signed 50 Cent. We would have to 4 more years for the Ja vs Em & 50 Cent beef to happen.

exactly. there is no way this is a diss. its just a funny coincidence
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it
Spend a million a track and went over my budget
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore - I just murdered the alphabet

^Maybe, but remember some of these beefs started way before they got into public eye.So we will never really know if Slim that DMX mentioned in Party up is Eminem's Slim shady or just another Slim :flower:
