Eminem's Recovery logs its 27th week in the top 10. That's the longest run in the top 10 for a rap album since 50 Cent's Get Rich Or Die Tryin' had 27 weeks in the top 10 in 2003. (The Black Eyed Peas' 2005 album Monkey Business logged 28 weeks in the top 10. The Grammys classified it as rap at the time, but it seems closer to pop.)

Eminem's Recovery this week surpasses Lady Gaga's The Fame as the best-selling album in digital history.

7. Eminem, Recovery, 34,000. The former #1 album dips from #6 to #7 in its 36th week. This is its 27th week in the top 10. Three songs from the album are listed on Hot Digital Songs, topped by "Love The Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna), which drops from #38 to #58.

I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Billboard 200

#7 Recovery - 36 weeks on chart
#75 Curtain Call - 106 weeks on chart
#86 The Marshall Mathers LP - 84 weeks on chart
#163 Relapse - 85 weeks on chart

At this rate Curtain Call & MMLP are gunna be amongst the best selling Hip-Hop albums of the year.

AJ: Could you give us best selling albums of 2011 so far?

Any chance that recovery will be in the top 15?

Wow!

I wonder how much impact Spacebound will have on sales when the music video drops. It's already a very popular song (just look on last.fm), but the video will make it even more so.

Best selling albums of 2011:

07 - 253,000 - RECOVERY - Eminem

I think Recovery will be in the top 20 year end for this year. It will need to sell around 1 million to make the top 10. So it would need to sell another 750k which seems a little to much.

I hope Dre will sell well with Detox, and I know 50 will sell good.

So 2011 gonna be a great year for the family!

I don't think he even cares anymore, he does whatever he can for money these days. If he were to be successful again, he'd need to "re-invent" himself, though even I hate saying that shit :coffee:
