Royce has mentioned that they realized them going back and forth at a certain intensity sounded dazzling so they kept going for it, on the EP.
I was listening to "Welcome 2 Hell" and "Fast Lane" again on my ipod whilst in a taxi yesterday. And it's not like I haven't heard them a million times already but... was just focusing on them again and at points, it really is spectacular.
Particularly on "Welcome 2 Hell" and particularly nearing the end of the track where they keep switching every other bar and the thoughts are in-sync.
Also, those two tracks in a row is two of the best openers I've ever heard next to each other. They flow into each other so well and even though this EP was supposedly thrown together and some critics say it's inconsistent, I don't get that at all. I think the first six tracks all flow beautifully and sound correct together. It starts to sound like an album.
If they could keep the intensity and consistency of "Welcome 2 Hell" and "Fast Lane" up for an entire album, have some innovative concepts, but, just keep that style relentless like that, and have just Em and Havoc producing, together maybe... that could be a classic. And it would be amazing.
