In artistic terms - a sell-out is somebody who compromises their art, for money.

Eminem has never done this and making money as an UPSHOT of what you do, without compromising your core aims or integrity is not selling-out.

People think if you make any money you're a sell-out lmao.

Eminem wears Kangol anyway, he also wears Nike etc. too, he wears these things anyway. So if Kangol or Nike want to make sure he wears these things in a video, in exchange for money or funding for the video... that's not selling-out. That's smart.

As it's not compromising his music, it makes no difference. And in fact I'd even rather it. Wearing for example, fake brands or hiding them in an attempt to 'not' look like a 'sell-out' would be ridiculous. It adds realism, as he really does dress like this.

Bottom line is: Eminem has always said exactly what he wants, he doesn't and has never held his tongue. The closest he's come to selling-out is Recovery but clearly, he was trying to please fans and adjust to the times. I honestly do not believe it was for money and I think anybody who thinks it was is retarded, given the shit he's turned down for... insane amounts.

He still makes vivid, uncompromising, uncensored music. Never sold-out.

Sell-outs don't put the amount of effort and self-awareness into what they do. Listen to say "Talkin' 2 Myself" - him self-lacerating his downfalls and analysing his weaknesses. No sell-out accurately de constructs their character and makes entertainment out of it lmao. As there are far far easier ways to make money and hits than this.

All rappers wear popular brands in their videos, or in general no matter if they're getting money for it, or just do it to look cool. Branding is part of the Hip-hop culture from the early stages of it, let alone that's not even what 'sell out' means, esp. in that genre.
Most popular rappers do have personal contracts with big brands & get millions out of it but that's never a negative thang, it's always positive for them & for Hip-hop in general.
