A number of reasons...
On a very basic level, without even analysing the technicalities of the lyrics or flows, I just objectively find it more enjoyable to my ears. It's more stimulating.
As for why I think it's better conceptually / lyrically and in every other aspect?
Firstly, there's a brooding intensity to Em's delivery alone which makes it audibly more exciting to my ears, and it's something that Nas does not have. Something else Nas doesn't do is evolve his style in a major way. Regardless of what you think of Em's changes in directions over the years, he remains unpredictable and he could sound... like something you've never heard, every album.
Where as Nas, as impressive as his lyricism remains... he never sounds much different.
"Nasty" is a basic Nas track. Yeah it's a nice beat and I can't fault the lyrics or execution but NUMBER ONE OF 2011? that's madness and I feel it's only because it's Nas it's getting that kind of hype.
That track is a basic braggadocio track, it's not exciting or intriguing. Whilst Nas' execution isn't simplistic, the track is and it doesn't light a fire in me. I hear it once, and I like it, but I don't have a burning desire to hear it again. Where as I do with "Fast Lane".
Now, all Em and Royce are doing is essentially bragging on "Fast Lane" too but they're doing it in a more interesting, cerebral way. And, because of the fact they're trying to top each other and are two incredible MCs, you have this sense of lyrical tug-of-war with the trading...
"Fast Lane" is an indulgence in wordplay and lyricism, and basically... being a smart-ass, which is what I love. I don't mind simplistic tones in the sense of... not being an overly complex concept, as long as the execution and attention to detail are intense and manic, which it is here.
Nas often has a natural eloquence and attention to detail also but, not in the same way. It's not as fun to me, he takes himself, and the world more seriously, it's more predictable.
On "Nasty", it's just 'another Nas track' to me. Is it good? sure. Better than "Fast Lane"? no way.
