We are building that massive new training and youth complex though which apparently doesn't count in your balance sheet. And that crazy sponsorship deal with Etihad..
Isn't that Etihad sponsorship being looked into by UEFA? I know it was, but I didn't follow it so I'm not sure if it's been sorted out yet?
Chelsea are in a bad position for Fair Play, but not as bad as City. I've been reading up on it and I've come across these quotes from football finance expert Andy Green.
"For Chelsea, I think if they can get a bigger ground they can probably get there,"
"For City, they've got a long way to go. They need to get into the Champions League, stay there year after year, probably put their ticket prices up and really turn around their commercial side - in fact they need to make it one of the best in the world - to even have a chance of meeting these rules."
Like I said, we can still technically splash out within reason. "Uefa's rules allow clubs to run up losses of £65m over the first five years." But of course, you want to meet those regulations.
And yeah, your new training ground is going to look lovely tbh. It'll be up there with Cobham.
