1st Semester Notes

Talk about what you have learned in school/college/university, and discuss with others.
Or you can simply talk negative about your teachers/boss.

We just have

A
B
C
D
E

All these above means 'Passed', but of course A is best, and E is bad.

F means failed.

See, in Northern Ireland, our system is -

Pass: A*, A, B, C
Fail: D, E, F, G, U

Congratulations, Lello :y: There are some good grades there.

A friend of mine studied Agronomy. We had some lectures that are related to Agronomy (animal feed science), but we only scratched the surface in comparison to what my friend had to learn.

First years are terrible (Physics, Chemistry and all that stuff you'll never look at again once you start working plus the great "let's seperate the wheat from the chaff" at the end of the year, although the subjects you had say nothing about how good you're going to be in your job... Or is that different where you're from? (-> Where are you from? The subject titles are in French.)

Why the hell do you guys have so many LETTERS?!

Here in AMURRICA we just got A, B, C, D, & F. We don't go all fancy hard in the paint U's and E's.

I'm from Lebanon, like 87% of the country or more is francophone, the rest anglophone, I'm francophone (yet Ironically can speak English a thousand times better then I can speak French). And yes, most subjects we take first year won't be used later (but Botanique (taking it 2nd semester which started today) will

:D The comment concerning French and English put a huge smile on my face. Eight years of French and I can hardly put together a more or less cohorent sentence. Four years of English and I'm capable of communicating. Glad to see I'm not the only one. What's your first language, then (since it's obviously not French)?
Are there any anglophone universities?

In Australia we have:

High Distinction: 85+
Distinction: 75-84
Credit: 65-74
Pass: 50-64
Fail: < 50

Or something like that, I never remember what marks equate to what, but it's a good system.
