-He isn't as good anymore

1. He has had so many different styles/flows/voices/song content across his career that it is impossible for everyone to always like everything he does.

2. He is followed and critiqued by anyone who knows anything about rap. Everyone has different opinions.

3. His first 3 albums were (almost) universally acclaimed. That is a virtually impossible feat and he will never repeat that.

4. 'Eminem fell off' is in some quarters regarded as an indicator that you know a lot about hip-hop.

5. It's not cool to like Eminem anymore.

6. He has had some off-moments since his return.

7. He's not the same artist or person that he was 15 years ago.

A couple of good points there. It is definitely 'cool' to dislike Em and say he fell-off as opposed to liking Nas. I feel you will get a lot of ignorant people give props to Nas and dismiss Em without any justification. Just because Illmatic is DA GOAT.

This combined with his music/albums simply not being as good. Also when an ignorant teenage girl loves LTWYL and calls Eminem amazing it pisses people off and turns them off the song. Kind of similar point as it's not 'cool' but when people blindly say Eminem is the best (even though by chance it is possible to back this up somewhat) it pisses people off and gives opportunities for people to tear down innocent little hannah's idol.

I think it's cos so many people we talking a huge amount say his Music has helped them over come so many struggles and hardships in their life, his Music has connected on a very personal level to so many people going through the struggles of life. So when fans who like other Rappers better than him or don't even like him hear this they naturally think wow i wish my fave Rapper had this sort of impact and made Music that helped so many and connected with so many like Eminem's.


So it rubs the haters the wrong way that not only he sells the most records, has the most radio play, the biggest Hit records, biggest fan base and biggest sell out tours. The fact he does all that but his Music connects and helps so many around the world is what gets the haters so upset the combination of those two things really based on them wishing their fave Rapper could do all that like Eminem.
