The JakProgresso Thread. (Haven't heard him? Check him out)

Postby Man In The Mirror » Sep 14th, '12, 19:36

So, doesn't anybody one here listen to him? I have only seen one post mentioning him. To me hes right up there with Eminem, Rhyme Asylum and Tech N9ne, if not even better. What do you guys think about him?

For those how don't know who this guy is, here are a couple of songs:
Magic Maze: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIusF0lOWLU
Diethyl (Music Video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JFGB-FA5nI
Dry Land: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpLyCsra ... re=related

Well, yeah, his flow is one of a kind. Haha, but you'll get into it. His lyrics are amazing!
His beats may be a little wierd to. I had a hard time listening to some of his songs because of that when I first found him but now I'm in love with those beats to.
This is a pretty good example of a wierd beat that I hated at first but now love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFHcp9DSYxI

How do you know of this guy?

Aside from all of the satanic stuff, this guy is right up my alley. He's got a psychedelic feel to him that I push for in some of my music, and he blends it well with that boom-bap production style. He's like a less lyric-packed Aesop Rock with a splash of Hunter S. Thompson.

Too bad he's not doing anymore features. I was seriously thinking about hitting this guy up in the near future. The most recent album is his last though, correct?

I was reading an interview with Aesop Rock a couple of years ago and he said that Jakprogresso was his favorite rapper. So I had to check him out. Personally I prefer Jak before Aesop by now.
Jak is very influenced by occult stuff and his idol Hunter S. Thompson so your feelings towards him are very logic. Haha.

He's still doing music, he just changed his name to Jak Tripper. He has done a feature on Goretex new album under the name Jak Tripper already. So hit him up, I think it's not impossible to get him on a track for the right price. :)
