Rick selflessly ran for Sophia when others wouldn't dare and stayed on the hunt even though Shane was telling him otherwise. He was prepared to go back to Atlanta just to save the dickhead of a man Meryl. Countlessly defended the lives of everyone in the group and in the last episode of season 2 I remember him shouting something like 'I killed my bestfriend to protect you people!'.

Rick is the definition of a righteous man, imo.
I guess me having a crush on the actor plays a little part in me liking Rick, too...
