That is uncalled for? i jut basically see where dante is coming from an artist should foremost do what they feel they want to do musically like he explained. I think when you start compromising for the sake of thinking what others will think or want or do not want that is not always positive. Maybe you disagree but wouldn't you rather Em do what he wants and feels he wants to write about? Em has always been this way anyway. We also don't know how people will take to him having an album themed about God, if he did do this it is somethin that would be new and fresh as far as concept. I just see no reason why people would dislike it atleast the majority if the album is of high quality. As said earlier i can see why an athiest would but obviously not all of his fans are athiest.

On his last album (which is considered "soft" by Em standards) he rapped about waving a chainsaw around, kicking women in the cunt, and breaking a woman's neck like a "popsicle stick". I don't see how he could possibly go for a christian album. Especially when Royce said it would be dark and haunting.

Because that is humor and entertainment and him just being crazy a persona which is diffrent to his actual life and serious records. By now a person well 99% knows a song where he using his persona to a serious song. Wasn't aware of the Royce comments.

That is just entertainment though. You can't judge a small portion of DMX or Em's music. Especially since a core principle is that everyone is a sinner and that is what Jesus died for.

Well that was my point obviously... just entertainment means I don't really need to take that seriously. I don't mind it but it's nothing to be taken seriously esp. considering X wanted to drop a gang related & a gospel album at the same day like 5-6 years ago or something.
