Yet again Eminem is white & you're commenting on his music in this thread.
On top of it hip-hop is universal esp. nowadays as the music itself barely even reflects on the culture anymore.

I know Eminem is white. I have white homiez who went thru similar things i did same with Em i can relate to his class level and not care about his skin because he comes from a similar type of place i do, Went thru things i have. But you mention him in this yet Eminem has said exactly the same words i have he himself said he does a black art form. Everyone is ignoring 1 poster that made a racist comment :o but all of a sudden getting angry about me pointing out Hip Hop was created by blacks as well as some latinos from the inner city.

I know Trimss & I know he's not a racist so I ignored what he said 'cuz he's a really nice dude in general, even though I agree you could have taken it differently. If that would make you feel better I apologize for not addressing that but going at you instead & I'll even risk to apologize on Trimss behalf too.

I know what you mean about hip-hop... I know where it originates from & I've listened to most of the ones to got it popping but it doesn't mean it belong to any race regardless. As a matter a fact I've had the chance to see many of the historic hip-hop places in The Bronx & my hat is down to all those OG's who started it.
That's why I addressed what you said that way 'cuz you weren't on point talking about Eminem. Then again like I said hip-hop today isn't just too different to what it was but barely reflects on the culture as it's way more business than everything else since it got the most popular genre.
The soul thing you started wasn't on point at the first place but it was your opinion so it is all good anyway.

I get what you're saying about the things you relate to but honestly even though I agree you have good knowledge about hip-hop I've been feeling you don't really have that kinda connection to the artists you like.

If you are not a racist person you should never make racist comments. You can't just brush it off after by sayiing oh well he nice he never meant it. You gotta realize some of our grand parents, great grand parentrs went thru hell as far as racisim, oppression. Just really dislike racisim or anyone who says racist things period. I think it just makes Em fan look bad and i am a fan but there is never any justification for saying anything racist. I get that dude might be a Sykler fan i got nothing againist her personally but it was just an honest observation that her music has no soulful influence. We don't want Em collabing with pop stars do we?

What's funny? If you think Skyler has any type of soulful style or influence or a soulful voice then i am speechless homie :o

Soulful music? Skylar Grey? Of course not. But why the fuck would a singer have to have a "soulful" voice to work with Em? That's random and it sounds rather stupid.

@ Snake Mainly cus it's a big aspect of the culture, and most people don't want no pop singer on his album. And if a singer has a voice like that that will only make the music more enjoyable and generally i seen a lotta people anticipate an Em and Adele collab so i wouldn't mind her or Mary J or even someone like who done that chorus on If I Had :worship:

Off topic... this word is popular on every hip-hop forum as it is an essential part of the hip-hop culture you were talking about... plus he obviously was addressing it this way. It wasn't about color, it was about music.

On topic... Skylar can deliver great hooks & she's done it already so if it was for such hooks I don't mind it at all. I don't know who exactly you meant when you started the soul thing but I suggest you bring some name or even check Em's discography for such collabos as an example. Again an opinion is an opinion but you were by far off point.
On top if it does it even count who exactly me, you or whoever else want to be on this album?

I just am not impressed by Skyler at all just is not for me at all. I enjoyed the hook that singer did on If Had i forgot her name tho but she was good. Just somethin like that if he was gonna have a featured hook would be trill for me anyway.

Well I'm all in for Mary J... :worship:
I wouldn't mind your other suggestions too but we have to agree none of that is gonna happen anyway so that's that.

It was a predominantly (don't scream Em) black art form, but now is a universal music genre.

Everyone listens to it, anyone can try to do it, everyone loves it. What could be better.

But to say it didn't initiate from black culture is ignoring the obvious truth.

Saying Hip Hop isn't black culture is like saying bollywood is not indian culture, classical music is not white culture, martial arts is not chinese culture etc. Hip Hop represents the struggle we go thru be it poverty, racisim, opression, police brutality etc or just more regular day to day things like tryna feed our kids while bein poor. Em was obviously accepted because he went thru the struggle and grew up in Detroit in a black hood, he respected the art form. But Hip Hop's roots come from Jamaica originally.

So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So baby make just like K-Fed and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke

Again all that is pretty much irrelevant plus Em didn't grew up in a black hood... he grew up in a white trash trailer park. It was more than ironic when you brought it commenting on a white artist. Nobody would argue about from where exactly hip-hop originated but that doesn't have anything to do with the thread esp. in the way you brought it up.
At this point I think you're tying way too hard with the side details.

BlueberryWun wrote:I just am not impressed by Skyler...

I forgot to mention... prepare to take an L on this one 'cuz you been not impressed means less than zero. She impressed the people she had to impress... meaning everybody on Interscope, including Eminem himself. On top of it she did the impossible an impressed Dr.Dre.

Racism happens everyday and why are you discussing it here? I'm not racist but I laughed my fucking testicles off when I heard a "You're Asian, I bet you see everything in widescreen angle vision" joke during a battle I watched on YouTube once. What now? :coffee:
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.
