I took the whole weekend off and here's still nothing. The silence is already annoying as hell... I start thinking Em isn't very confident with his new material.

The silence says nothing of his confidence or otherwise. HE hasnt announced he is coming out with a new album so, to him, the hype process hasnt even started yet. Until he starts doing shows/ interviews/ Releases a single and then backs off a lil to "rework" on the project can we assume he is getting cols feet.

That said, i really wonder what Eminem sees the game as now. I mean, he has consitently said he "sees what happens" with other rappers and gets some cues on whats hot at that point. With the "lyrical revolution" spearheaded by Kendrick Lamar nd the new skul (Earl, Yela, Black Hippy, Badass etc), the commercial of YMCMB (rich gang, Khaled, Tyga), the "artsy" style of veterans (kanye, Jay Z, Big Boi) there are some many ways in which hip-hop is coming out. It would have quite an impact on him whether he feels like an outsider (Syllables) or a leader of a new age of domination for Shady/Aftermath/ G-unit

As of today, the most realistic thing that will happen is keep most of the past setlist(s) and perform the new singles. I say that because I can no longer see it coming before the shows.

I'm not saying I feel one or the other, but Jay just informed us that his album was coming out on July 4th. That's about half a month away. Kanye only needed half a month to a month to promote. It feels like a new trend of promoting music is upon us, at least for established names. I would be surprised if em didn't follow suit. If he does follow this trend, he still has time to drop the album before the shows, which we ALL agree makes the most the sense.

However, I'm not getting my hopes up, and am just trying (yes, trying) to sit here patiently waiting for some news. My only hope is that Symphony in H holds me over for a month or so so I can push the thought of his new album to the back of my mind for a couple weeks.

As of now he hasn't announced, but the HAT and Paul announcement can't be ruled out at this point. With such an announcement he won't be doing older songs for his tour. It'd be obvious to him that his fans expect something new, doing the opposite would bring him some amount of ridicule. Only thing that is affirmative as off now is that we are getting a single just weeks before the show, and the show itself would be a great platform to promote his upcoming Album. And, as I know, that he's doing another show, so dropping the Album before that would be the second best thing.

I think he doesn't give a damn about any other Rapper apart from those in his own label. There work is what makes him think and decide his future actions. He knows whatever he puts out is going to be liked, so I don't think they matter to him that much.
