Just listened it through.

Overall the album wasn't as bad as I thought, but I didn't really enjoy it. Very sporadic/inconsistent.

Straight out of the Gate:

Good track, I'd even go as far as saying I liked it. I'm just not keen on all of this pledge stuff he does to appeal to the 'trailer trash' Midwest folk with cringe worthy Strange Music tattoos.

With The BS:

Could have been dope without Big Scoob bringing it down a peg or two at the end

Love 2 Dislike Me:

I'm Not A Saint:

I liked this one. If I had to pick 3 track that get music video treatment on this album, this would be one of them, along with Fragile (Kendrick factor = views/exposure) and Straight Out The Gate.

Fragile:

I liked this, too, even though I'm not a fan of Kendrick.

Priorities:

Not a fan of Game, but didn't mind him on this. Would have been dope without the woman and just Tech & Game to be honest.

Dwamn:

Always looking for the pussy: CAT scan
Booties always being watched: Black man

Loving the album so far. Not feeling Dwamn or I'm Not a Saint atm, but besides that I enjoy every song. Tech lyrically on top of the game, as usual, nothing surprising there.

It's like watching Roy Jones Jr's boxing career after the Tarver fights. There are still glimpses of greatness there, but it just isn't the same.

Well I guess Tech is as much of an acquired taste as it gets in the rap world

Straight out the Gate

Fucking intense beat. SO Tech N9ne. He stayed right in his wheelhouse here and you could tell he was reaching out to the rock fans that'll be listening for Serj. They mashed together perfectly on this track. Every verse was fire.

B.I.T.C.H.

I think this song will sound a lot better remixed on a bigger beat. He did fine but the beat didn't allow for much more than what we got. Also the hook is annoying. Nonetheless, this was a song with a message that he got across. Moving on.

With the BS

Tech keeps some of the tempo from Straight out the Gate for his verse, but it wasn't too notable lyrically. Great delivery and fun flows though. As for the features

Love 2 Dislike Me

I really like this song. One of my favorites. Boiling Point shit. He's fucking pissed on this one-- Sick of beating his head against a wall of haters that he can't manage to please no matter what. It's literally as if they want to dislike him. Beautiful piece.

This one's receiving a lot of hate for some reason, but I don't know why. I love the mystical/astral beat, probably my favorite one on the album. And his final verse is amazing. This is a real ass track about being held back by corporate bullshit his entire career. Trying to be this big as an underground artist is not easy.

I'm Not A Saint

Fucking eerie chorus. And that 2nd verse is just chilling. For those that don't know, Brian Dennis was the one who inspired almost everything about Tech N9ne. From his face paint to his stage presence. He was shot and killed early on in Tech's career by some jealous guy who wanted his girl. He has a song about it on K.O.D. called The Martini.

Fragile

Simple yet flexible beat. Tech brought an awesome flow and Kendrick perfectly compliments it with raw power. Couldn't ask for more

DAMN Game Haven't heard him go that hard since Stadium Music. Tech did his fuckin thing and the chick was alright but she's no Snow

Dwamn

Wacky club track. Tech filled the time with some standup comedy references and other bullshit. It's fun if you're into that kind of music, but I find it forgettable.

So Dope

Tech's flow is godly here. He went all out bustin on this one. Couldn't ask for more from him here. Wrek seemed out of his lane. That style just doesn't work for him imo. Twisted Insane went hard at the beginning but his verse depleted over time. Snow however, in my opinion, dropped her best verse ever here. Should've just been Tech/Snow really.

See Me

Commercial track. Wiz has no place on this song other than to increase Tech's fanbase. Annoying hook and the beat is lame as fuck. However, Tech's 2nd verse is notably solid.

My Haiku/Burn the World

I love this track. This track is just fuckin word. Tech does the beat justice with 2 beautiful verses, and Krizz was perfect for it.

That's My Kid

Tech's verse was powerful. Right in the feels. Definitely for his kids. CeeLo and Big Krit's verses were forgettable but Kutt brought it back up at the end.

Meant to Happen

Another one of my favorites from the album. Great storytelling, which is rare for Tech, and a great chorus. 3rd verse was deep as fuck.

Believe

Should've been placed after My Haiku. Another one of my favorites from the album. Both verses were absolutely amazing and powerful as fuck. Not sure what more to say about this one, he said everything that needed to be said. And the beat was perfect.

Strange 2013

Took me a few listens but it's really grown on me. Tech's just flairing lyrically and having fun with the beat along side the fucking Doors! Great way to end the album.



We're still missing the bonus tracks, but overall I give the album an 8.5/10. The only things that brought it down for me were a few of the features and Dwamn. Other than that Tech brought his everything here, which is exactly what I wanted to hear. I honestly didn't think he'd be able to top what he did on 6's & 7's but he somehow managed to pull it off.
