Eminem this week becomes the first male solo artist to amass three 5-million-selling digital hits. He accomplishes the feat as his 2010 smash “Not Afraid” tops the 5 million mark. It follows “Love The Way You Lie” (featuring Rihanna, 5,939,000) and “Lose Yourself” (5,555,000). Only two other artists have had three or more 5-million-selling digital hits. Katy Perry leads the pack with four. Lady Gaga has also had three.
Both “Not Afraid” and “Love The Way You Lie” are from Eminem’s 2010 album Recovery. That’s one of seven albums to spawn two or more 5 million-sellers. The others are Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream (which is the only album to spawn three 5-million-sellers), the Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D., Adele’s 21, LMFAO’s Sorry For Party Rocking, Lady Gaga’s The Fame and Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops And Hooligans.
