What makes me think he can top them? Sobriety and clarity of thought. Lucidity my friend.

Well, he was on probation during TES and in the MMLP era he used drugs on a recreative way. Not crazy addicted, I think. At least that's what I've been told on TRshady

If Proof didn't die, what do you think he would have released after Encore? The Funeral?

He wouldn't have gone into that huge depression and overdosed though.

I'm very sure that after the snippet of the video drops today we'll get the video the next day, but after that? We'll get nothing for weeks, that's what I hate when it comes to waiting for an Eminem album. :(

The MMLP2 release is in less than 2 months. I think we'll get bombarded by news and album-related things, starting on Monday.

He went to rehab because overdose. If Proof didn't die he still would be taking pills.

Lol overdosing was a matter of time regardless of Proof dying or not.

MMLP2 won't come close to matching the first 3 probably.

He's not the same guy, so the music won't come out the same way it did back then in his 20's. We as fans and everyone else in hip hop are infatuated with Ems older music on his first 3 albums, so that will always creep into your head when listening to any Eminem material. You'll always compare it to your earlier work.

In all seriousness, since he's naming it MMLP2, it'll be even harder to match or come close to the first 3. He'd have to make an album twice as good as those for people to seriously consider calling it better than any of his first 3, and I don't think at this point he's capable of that. Eminem is still the best rapper alive with Nas in my opinion, but like Nas, I don't think he's capable of making something close to earlier work, but still capable of making good albums. I still thought Relapse and Recovery were good albums overall, and Hell the Sequel was dope.

For us to even mention it along his greatest albums, it'd have to be about as good as any of the first 3. Still, I'm not sure Em can do that at this point though. If he makes something even in the ballpark of being as good as his first 3, we'll still say it was good, doesn't come close to the first 3 though.....because he named it MMLP2 and because everyone is so fascinated with his first 3 albums.

If we get a Relapse or Recovery level album, a good album but not near as good as the first 3, we'll trash it even more than anyone trashed those, because of the name alone. Mark my words.

Em would have to come with some serious heat and a seriously amazing album for anyone to really consider placing it among the first 3. I don't think Em can have another classic, he's too far along in his career, where people are too infatuated with his first 3 albums, which could all be considered classics. It's like Nas, Illmatic and It Was Written will never be topped or any Nas albums will never be mentioned with those.

I think the best case scenario for Em is to have something similar to Stillmatic for Nas. Stillmatic at the time was regarded as a big time return for Nas, his best album since It Was Written, and it didn't tarnish any long term legacy of Illmatic whatsoever. It was really a great "sequel" to one of the best hip hop albums of all time, but still no one can seriously call Stillmatic a classic. I think that's the best case scenario for MMLP2. Worst case scenario is Em makes MMLP2 his Blueprint 2, and everyone knows it doesn't come remotely close and is such a weak effort compared to his best work.

I think if Em did release a classic, it would still get bashed because people don't want him to beat the old MMLP.
