JT could have it in the bag if he were to release The 20/20 Experience as a refill instead of a part two.

That's probably what he's going to do.

Coinciding with the release of The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2, the record will be packaged with The 20/20 Experience and released as a compilation album entitled, The 20/20 Experience: The Complete Experience.

wait did relapse refill just count as sales for relapse?

It will probably count as one album. So that part 2 is already starting with 2 000 000 albums sold. Eminem ain't going to top that lol

I'm not sure that sales of JT's 20/20 experience 2 of 2 will count towards the first one tbh, it's a seperate entity surely?

in the same way mmlp2 wouldn't count towards the original mmlp sales as even though it's a sequel, it's individual too

i know it's just how it's phrased on wikipedia but it does say "The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 is the upcoming fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake" which does suggest to me that the sales will not count towards the first one

but whatever happens i'd bet my house on MMLP2 being at least the 2nd highest selling album of 2013, which is great, and in less than 8 weeks even better

I think this is more of a Relapse/Refill case.. Rather than an actual sequel. I don't know, but yeah, as you said, Em might get number #2 or at the very least number #3.

We'll see. :smoking: I know he's gonna beat those Recovery numbers for sure.

and recovery was insanely good compared to most rap cd's.

ever since rampant piracy, it's practically impossible for non-pop albums to reach a million it's first week.

that's BS tbh .. what you don't get, and a lot of other members here, Eminem is a pop artist that happens to do rap. He's probably, next to adele, the most popular artist in the world thanks to recovery .. he got a shitload of fans through releasing recovery. Sure some are gonna say that they only listened to Not Afraid and didn't buy the album, but those that bought the album, and stayed fans, also listened to his whole discography, well, the majority at least. IMO Em has never had more fans than now.. and the fact that Berzerk almost sold as much, if not more than Not Afraid proves that - therefor, atleast 800k if drake is going to move 700k first week

My prediction is around 950k. Recovery did have hits like Not Afraid and LTWYL and they helped not only the album to sell big but to win Em a lot more fans amongst the new generation. Also, I see a lot of general hip-hop fans which hated Em after Recovery and said he fell off have their fate restored in him because of the album being called MMLP2 and him looking like he might be back to his old self. And old fans are more hyped than ever as well. So I think this would make first week sales bigger than back in 2010 even without hits like NA and LTWYL. Plus the promotion have just begun and I am sure there is a lot more to come, and maybe we'll have a second single and a Survival video before November 5th.

Love The Way You Lie was released as a single after Recovery came out so it didn't have an influence on first week sales.. Well, except for the feeeeew Rihanna stans who heard the leak.

^Yes, but what I'm saying is that LTWYL will have a big influence on MMLP2 first week sales, because it made Em bigger in the pop world.

Em was always big in the pop world. Love the Way You Lie was just his biggest since Lose Yourself. But Em has always been a big star in the pop world, as well as hip hop.

I'd say 700,000 is the over/under. If he does over that, it's a big success in 2013. That would be like 1.4 million in 2000. If he does under, that's a pretty significant drop from Recovery in 2010.

Actually, I'd argue that LTWYL had quite an impact on the first-week sales of Recovery. This song really got people talking (mainstream consumers/rihanna fans). The leak of Recovery is an example of a leak doing more good than harm.
