Comparing it to SSLP, MMLP, and TES a.k.a his prime, is just absurd.

At this stage in his career, I can only hope for an album better than Encore, Relapse, and Recovery, and that's what I expect we will get.

I agree. At best, we'll classify it up there as a classic, but I don't think he'll touch his prime. I do think he will for sure top his last three as well.

I do still think he can top SSLP, but thats my opinion.

Agreed :y:

You people have already read this enough, but... Em wouldn't name his album MMLP2 if it's not at least great.

His 3rd best, imo. But if someone say that it's his 1st, I'd understand.

I get why people love SSLP, I do myself. For a lot of people who rank it 1 or 2, they always have such good reason to what that album means to them. But IMO it's number 3 and MMLP and TES beat it by a long shot. And if Em uses his full potential and smartens up this album (which I think he has considering calling it MMLP2), he can top SSLP.

It's really not.

SSLP being a favorite to some people is understandable. Like for me, TES is my favorite. But if we're sitting here saying which album is better overall in Hip Hop. I really can't see any other order than MMLP - TES - SSLP..

List the 10 best Em songs in your opinion. Than see how many hit each album. IMO, everyone usually will have at least 3 or 4 from MMLP, 2 from TES and usually maybe 1 from SSLP if that.

SSLP is great overall, but he didnt reach his best until MMLP/TES

All my opinion of course guys.

Those are all great songs. I agree that it's extremely hard and more than likely, he wont. But I do think, if production is on point, and Em is focused and brings good content, he can make songs better than those IMO. But can he do a whole album as consistent as MMLP/TES/SSLP is the question. Every album from Encore to Recovery, has had some amazing tracks that we all love, but all the duds and throwaways hurt each album. Hopefully he learns from that.

Anybody else notice that ever since he started doing bonus tracks, they have all been better than some tracks on the album. Like seriously, all 3 albums, replace 2-4 tracks with the bonus ones, and you got a better album in every case. Hopefully he learns from that too. Like how did Crack a Bottle, Old Time's Sake or Beautiful make it over the 2 bonus tracks.

Brain Damage, '97 Bonnie & Clyde, As the World Turns, Rock Bottom, Just Don't Give A Fuck, Still Don't Give A Fuck, Role Model... I can stop there.

He isn't topping that.

those are probably the only really good ones .. If I had, Cum on everybody I'm shady and BME are so forgettable that it's already funny.

It's like that with a lot of albums not just Em's.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

Someone's got to be the sceptic, right...? So… Ask yourself these questions;

(i) Does the quality of Berzerk give any solid indication of an MMLP2 > SSLP?

(ii) Does the quality of the recent features/releases give any solid indication of an MMLP2 > SSLP?

(iii) Does the quality of the two last albums give any solid indication of an MMLP2 > SSLP?

Or... Isn't it the fact that the album is called MMLP2 that this claim is even considered? It's natural, of course, since most here would say MMLP > SSLP. What I'm getting at is, expectations are shooting through the roof because of the title. It's hype, with little substance.

I agree with EminemBase, it is unlikely for him to reach SSLP/MMLP/TES level again, but as long as it is a masterpiece like Relapse or even better, I'd be happy, and everyone else should be, too.
