Survival is awful, imo. I kinda find a few lines decent, but the bad outweighs the good imo. Too much confidence is a real problem with Eminem, it causes him to spew unfunny, unlikeable, and unneeded bullshit.

If you dont want to eventually start resenting this album I suggest people to stay away from this thread once the album drops and come to YOUR own conclusions as to what YOU think of the album before coming back. People complain and bitch about shit in here and I get the feeling a lot of these people just do it because they cant form their own personal opinions on a matter. All I see in here now is people bitching about the same things. Female hooks, survival, the features, and a bunch of other things that more likely than not contradict their own honest opinions on them. I see a lot of people on here who loved Survival once it dropped but after a while those very same people say they dislike it because it sounds recovery-ish, then once the video drops they come back around and say they love it again. There are a lot of followers on here who cant seem to think for themselves.

Recovery was never hated because of the "Recovery sound", the main reason why it was disliked was because it wasnt a well put together album and not because of individual tracks aside from LTWYL and a few others. So I dont see the logic behind people hating on survival for it sounding recoveryish other than the fact that they're following an opinion that wasnt originally formed. Then they eventually start complaining about it too causing more and more people to subconsciously think they hate something they actually like. I even caught myself sighing when I saw Survival on the album and I liked it when I first heard it, and I still do. imo other than the hook Survival > Berzerk. And for the people complaining about female hooks, they seem to ignore the fact that there were female features on sslp, mmlp and tes.

This isnt anything new. Think of it this way (as someone put it before)
Dido = Skylar Grey
and
Dina Rae = Rihanna.
Then theres the chance that any of these 3/4 possible female features could be something as simple as simple vocals mixed in with an Em hook like whats on COE or Superman so for people to dismiss a hook as being taken up by a featured artist is pessimistic. Just my Rant/advice. Once the album leaks/drops, don't give in to opinions until you form your own.

MMLP2 tracklist is a complete joke.Em said he was done with the pop Recovery from his 2010 album, then goes and releases this lame tracklist with Rhianna and the lead singer from fun!WTF!
He chose lead singer from fun and skylar grey over 50 cent,Dre and slaughterhouse feats?
Choosing Rhianna and the guy from fun prove that this album will just be Recovery 2 and that he used MMLP2 name just to gain interest.
MMLP was an all time classic rap album selling 27 million worldwide with no cack songs on it.
The first 2 we get from MMLP2 are a complete an utter pile of turd.putting Survival on the album is another huge mistake.
Em never should have released another album, Recovery sold 8 Million and put him back on top, when MMLP2 comes out and fails he will will retire at the bottom!

That's not at all what I was even saying.. All I said was that it was his opinion that Survival and Berzerk are bad songs, same as Uofl said. Also said Berzerk wasn't a bad song and served it's purpose. And he gets all hostile and tells me my opinion is shit. Yours must be too, your fucking username has Berzerk in it.

If their purpose was to be bad songs, then yeah, they served it.


They are skippable tracks. Sing for the moment is a good song. And no one really has to stand up for it.

When half a forum has to stand up for two songs every day for a month, that means something.


How often do you see someone on here like "Man, fuck that song criminal" and someone has to come in and be like "well, for what it is, it's good."

A song that is good doesn't really have to be defended that often. These do, because they are really mediocre and that scares people into denial that Em worked on songs for over three years and the first two we hear are just "meh" songs.

I'll still stick to my word and say Survival has grown on me a lot. I'm not big on the hook, but overall it's a good song in my honest opinion. I find myself playing it more than I do Berzerk, which is also a good song but a little loud for my taste. If I want loud I play rock tracks not hip hop.
