I'm not but after Berzerk and Rap God I had hope.

I knew when Kendrick was the only MC on the album, Recovery vibes.

"Let's take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch"

LOL JUST KIDDING, HERE'S A GENERIC POP SONG

I guess by revisiting the MMLP he meant making songs that sound like the shit he used to hate.

That's what I did with Encore lol

As much as the lyricism in his verses outdo Encore in many ways, at least Encore was Eminem. It was him with all his flaws painfully exposed, with the drugs blitzing his mind and totally lost as to where to go next. But at least in that regard it was authentic. It was him as he was at that time, with no filter.

This is just absolute bullshit. We know he doesn't have inner demons now, he's fucking said how he's finally happy and settled. He's making this cliched shit to sell the record but alienating his fans in the process.

No.. This is authentic. He even said in Rap God that he might as well use his position as an artist for good once in awhile by making inspiring music. And he also said that he's found ways to cross it with other genres while still being him.

He's never compromised lyrically. I dunno what the big deal is. He probably DOES want to be a regular civilian. How is it fake? His daughter was just awarded homecoming queen and he couldn't even watch it up close, he had to hide. It's probably annoying, which is why he writes about it. Listen to the lyrics of the song. He's never been comfortable with being famous. He's an awkward guy.

Anyways, that's why I like it. I'm not trying to sway your opinion though lol. :y:

The second Em stops rapping about offensive things and being funny... and switches to solely singing / making pop albums, I'll agree with you. But he's always been Em. Just a little different.

We haven't even heard the whole album and people are jumping ship.

I get what you're saying. All artists are human and fall off. He should just retire.

Geno man just think about the blonde hair, the album name and the promo picture (my sig).

Nobody expected this shit when we first heard that advert.

'Let's take it back to straight Hip Hop'...?

Em's verses are almost always technically strong. He's got a great, compelling way with words and it's his greatest strength.

These verses on a different beat, with his own hook, could be fucking great and would also blow up in the right circles - in hip hop circles.

He wants respect and then releases this? I just don't get it. Whose respect does he want? 12 year old girls?

Because it sounds like a song a 17 year old girl would listen to.

it's not a bad song, but the whole sound of it is just really off-putting. granted, i've only listened to it once, maybe my opinion could change later, but at the point, i don't even see it becoming a hit...like i don't even feel like listening to it again, and this rarely happens with me when a new record by Em drops hmm

It's a good and catchy song, but it has me worried how the rest of the album will sound. I'm prepared for Recovery 2.0.

so i did the thing were i dont read this until i listened. i listened on youtube, and imo its shit. dont hate me for just writing it off, but the everses are way too short, and they dont convey anything memorable to me. rihanna's voice is honestly the most memorable part of the song for me... ill listen again in like 30 minutes and see what i think, but for now, this is my opinion of the song (now to read 30 pages of your guys' stuff)
