All I have to say is this talk of post Relapse Em being his most lyrical is just very suspect. What the fuck do y'all actually listen to that is hip hop besides Em? Y'all comparing him to Big Sean or something?!

punchlines aside, he's also got this double and triple entendre shit going on now, his rhymes were pretty basic back on his classics, but it was his charisma that shone through on them, he's certainly had growth in his rap skills.. admittedly, recovery and bme had some heavy reliance on weak punchlines, but as stans we should know his headspace back then, lacking in confidence, due to the relapse bashing made him wanna immitate the likes of lil wayne, who he deemed as the shit at the time.. but now i think rapgod proves he's moved on from that period

I think people blow his "corny lines" on Recovery out of proportion. He had a handful, fine. But most of his cringe lines came from the guest appearances following BME.

Recovery had a lot of sharp lines.

I don't know. When they worked, they worked. They were entertaining/clever. He did use more of them than on any other album, but I still think the good ones outweighed the bad so I didn't mind them.

This is literally consuming my life. I'm not sure how much longer I can wait without having a nervous breakdown. I set my alarm for three hours before I wake up to check for a leak, again when I wake up. Every time there's no customers at my job I'm refreshing TR and SL nonstop, then after I shower I continue until I go to sleep then repeat the cycle. This is literally all I've been doing for the last week. I've put off my friends, girls, aspirations, this is all I give a fuck about right now and it's a serious problem. For the well being of myself and others this needs to leak tonight.

Based on the songs we have, he seems to have toned it down to a good level with the wordplay and punchlines. Nothing too over the top, but still some clever lines.

Yeah. I don't think I cringed at all in terms of punchlines. Rap God was flawless, Monster didn't have any. I don't remember anything on Survival being so bad it ruined the song.

The only lines I was kind of like "ugh, come on, Em," were "make like k-fed and let yourself go" and "woke up next to the ugly kardashian" on Berzerk. The first one is embarrassingly dated, and the second just felt like a forced attempt to be his old Slim Shady self.

Having said that, I still like Berzerk.

i just dont think he felt comfortable spitting in that style, he'd spit the punch and let it linger longer the rumour that he was sticking it to christina, haha. but in rap god, berserk and yes, monster, he doesn't dwell on the punches, just moves right past em.. other than that punchline reliance on recovery and bme, he laid some pretty dope stuff on both albums tbh
