But still the sales are good, and im guessing after this week sales it will rise again because of Christmas. But i still feel like sales could of been better with better promotion. Like even for relapse eminem had more promotion in US than MMLP2. Like there were a lot of award shows he could of performed in. And he could of had more interviews with talk shows.
But that's just it...why should he when he doesn't have to. Yeah maybe he'd sell a few more hundred thousand copies but I think at this point Eminem has proven he has very strong selling power and a committed and hardcore fanbase that will go out and support him.
Look at how much money their labels spent on promotion for Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. How'd that work out for them? Has there been an award show Katy Perry has not performed at since her album came out? A talk show she hasn't been on? And she still could barely shift 300,000 copies in her first week.
Em kind of alluded to that whole thing in his Rap City interview where he talked about one of the things that was crazy in the early days with SSLP and MMLP was that he was being pulled every which way and had to do this show, this appearance, this interview because he was a new artist and that's what you do. But at this point, he doesn't and Paul had a cool interview about the new ways to market and promote an artist that doesn't have to involve going on talk shows answering the same questions over and over.
