The new one has the sort of wry good humour that is very prevalent on MMLP2, it's something I never expected from Em tbh, another example is the "up close didn't know you had crow's feet" line.
When I heard those, I thought "wow, this dude really did grow up".
His sense of humour is less cutting/shock value than before and is just, sort of, more...humourous?
It's part of the reasons I'm so insistent that MMLP2 is a classic, it truly reflects an epoch in his career and I think it serves as an end to something, which we'll have to wait for the next album to confirm.
Also, anybody else think that MMLP2 really starts at Berzerk and that the earlier tracks were a sort of flashback or "previously, on..."?
Seriously, think about it.
