I fail to fully enjoy So Much Better
The lack of a bassline kills me
Funny verses and great hook though :y:

Em has always had classic openings.
The weakest opening was on Recovery, because of Talkin To Myself, but Cold Wind Blows and On Fire are some of my favorites Em tracks.
Even Encore has a sick opening.

Evil Deeds, Never Enough, Yellow Brick Road and Like Toy Soldiers is a sick opening, if you ask me.

True. All of Eminem's albums have had great opening sequences. Might I add I love SSLP's opening songs.

Evil Deeds has Em reflecting on fame, and the third verse has some of the realest lines he has ever written in his career:
"But life ain't a fairytale, I'm about to be hoisted up in the air
Forty feet below me, there's people everywhere
I don't even know why they feel like they know me cause I'm in this ferris wheel
And all I wanna do is go to the mall and take Hailie on the carousel
Without this crowd everywhere I go, but life is like a merry-go-round
Here we go now, doe-se-doe now, curtains up, the show must go
Now ring around the rosie, the show's over, you can all go home now
But the curtain just don't close for me, this ain't how fame is supposed to be
Where's the switch I could just turn off and on, this ain't what I chose to be
So please God, give me the strength to have what it takes to carry on
'til I pass 50 back the baton, the camera's on, my soul is gone
"

Everything about that feels so true. That's really how Em felt at that time, and that's perfect for an opening.
Later in the track he makes it even more clear that he feels trapped in a character, that he has no soul, and that he isn't able to distinguish reality from fame anymore.
That's why, after that third verse, after we understood how he hates being famous and all that, he just screams "Detroit!" and goes on with the show, and just acts like nothing happened.
That's an amazing metaphor.

Then you got Never Enough, which is a good song. Not his best of course, but a good song, and it's the usual "Hey I'm back, did y'all miss me" track Em puts in every album he makes (I'm Back, Business/Square Dance, Hello, On Fire, Rhyme Or Reason). It's executed very well, it has a dope beat, and two really solid verses from Em and Fifty, plus an incredible hook by Nate Dogg.

Last but not least Yellow Brick Road:
I don't have any problems with its delivery. Aside from that, even if you don't like it, you have to consider the context in which that song was released. Em was accused of being racist and with that track he cleared everything up, while crafting a good piece of art at the same time.

I don't think I need to speak about Like Toy Soldiers. I believe pretty much every Em fan likes that song.

That's a pretty sick opening.

No I didn't. I said it's one of the strongest on the album.

That has to be the most simplistic "I hate fame" verse ever. Anyone can write a verse like that. Anyone.

Thats actually a pretty bad verse

I've been noticing how bad a lot of verses are on encore, I guess I never paid attention because I was so used to just listening to it.
