Desperadoes VS. Catastrophic [FINALS]

Desperadoes VS. Catastrophic [FINALS]

VOTING: Read each piece carefully/thoroughly, and write at least a paragraph on who you think had the better verse and why.

Eedee - Mr.DGAF

D and I decide to log onto TRShady,
Got the circle of death, patiently we are waitin'
But then the white page pops up, it's not what

We expect, I say, "refresh the page", it will not stop us
Several gateway errors got us insane, stay staring
Inside this blank page, glaring until my face changed, barely

This 502 shit is just a Mayday waitin'
And while the place lay vacant I feel my brain waves placed in -
Some arena or maze; it's funny, we're fucked, alright
Like some sorta demented "Honey, I Shrunk the Site"

Stuck inside this faulty configuring, all we can figure is
If we conquer this mission then we can launch from this prison

We know there won't be any fun, relaxin'
So we both nod to each other in mutual understanding.

First we battle the bots - but they're too frail
So it cannot be lost, weak armor and shoe sales.

We blow past another scene discovering a spot for
An endless debate about Recovery vs. Encore

As an encore to that, we got this crazy road block
It's Hopsinshadie's bipolar motherfucking posts, God

His troll qualities honestly ugly, it's plain stupid,
I ain't usin' that word lightly,
rather his name ruins
The same music I love…
I love the same, like Same Love
Portals us into a domain of
racist hating and gay shuns
Macklemore vs. Kendrick
, he's body'ing him nice,
And Lamar has lost the fight, to a copy of The Heist.
Then we're stolen away, to the loneliest place,
Where the Just Silver posts win the game.
Then we witness a tragedy, Hopsinshadie is alive,
Thought we killed you, but actually not, since crazy doesn't die.
Maybe when he lies "fantasizing my girlfriend"
We found a way to kill 'em: sacrificing a virgin.
Now with Gump-esque dead, we transport to a place
Where stories of imagination come forth on the page.
What more can we say? Silver's into porn that is gay
With his cousin, we saw him fucking
recording that day
Camera in one hand,
soma in the other
Happy he sucks Adam,
told you it’s a cover...
We leave the creative zone and have to get gone
Or find some answers, god dammit, so we challenge the God
To battle the mod, we have to be cunning vigil and fast
We're prepared to battle TR - but it's really the lack
Of being trapped in sections, so we went to hack his messages
You did this, so nano-byte our dicks, "that's so devilish"
This man won’t fight us, shit, he won’t even respond
Trapped in this Gateway, you bet we're leavin' a mark.
We get a spark till we find that we’re in reach of pushing
The fuckin' button to cure all: 'Delete the cookies".
We're warped back out of the site, gettin' our heads straight,
And with a wink and a smile we relish our red names.

Epilogue Narration (written by Painus)

Woke up, see the eviction notice still on the door,
Pills still spilled on the floor, still never been the villain before,
But I cant sustain livin' this poor, my kin need something to eat,
My kid sits on the porch looking at me like he means nothing to me

Woke up life is good, great job, a kid, a nice wife to cook
Positioned like I stood on a pedestal, living life like I should
Living with no worries just stories, like I can say that it's cool
How I can look to my son and know I can pay for his school,

Look to my son, remind him not to forget that I'm proud,
But I've only got two choices, starve or head into town,

Watching the game with my kid, but then said with a frown,
Sorry son, but dads got a job so I have to head into town,

Hop on the bus, shook up, this'll be the worst thing that I've done,
I think I cant do it, but a voice whispers the words "think of your son",

Driving to work thinking me and my son do something when I'm done
Maybe go for some pizza then go out to the skating rink, would be fun

Hop off the bus, hood up, wandering the business district,
Ready to create some unfinished business, never been this vicious,
But it's not me, it's the system, then out the corner of my eye,
A Mercedes pulls up, and out of it comes a not-so-ordinary guy,

Step out of my Mercedes, start walking towards the street lights
See a sketchy man as he approaches me shook but I looked up, we meet eyes

Said "Give me your wallet", if he doesn't fulfill that, I'll kill him,
Knife out, feel my anxiety rising, hoping that I'm still not the villain,

Pushed off, took off dashing up the hill and did it fast as I could
Stumbled then tripped on my foot, fell face flat while he stood
Over me...
Only three hours later, eating dinner with a side of guilt,
That I could be inside a cell over mugging a man who I'd have killed,
For survival, still I try to deal out the blame to problems I've gone through,
In the pit of my stomach I dread that he had a family he's gotta go home to,

"A man does what he can to feed and provide for his seed from the beginning of history
Trying to teach and preach that even the slightest bit of greed could breed misery"

Yes.

It seemed like 32 was pretty short for a final round, and I remember it getting brought up in the other thread. We asked if it was 32 or 64 but nobody answered so we did 32 as a minimum.

Welp, that would have been nice to actually talk about because we had to cut out a big chunk of what we wanted to end on because we thought we were sticking to 32 like it said.

Regardless, you guys have a very nice piece.

Well...that doesn't really make sense, brother :-k

Yeah but since when do rappers have to make sense when they make cents?

Honestly though, our bad. Idk how to handle this tbh. Its whatever y'all decide to do. Wasn't trying to get the upper hand or anything tho.

Okay, so this is all just a big clusterfuck of misunderstanding haha

Pain and I figured since we were co-hosts and both in the finals, we'd just make an open concept.

But then that thread kinda confused me and DGAF, not sure how many bars to write. PLUS, I could've sworn it said "32 bars or however many you want on whatever the fuck you want". I could've sworn on my mother's grave that's what it said. So going over 32 bars is my bad, not DGAF's.

How about this: just edit in the chunk you threw out for length-sake so that way your piece is complete.

Remember, longer =/= better. Bar count honestly doesn't matter in this round because it's an open concept, you can write a dope 8 bar verse about X theme/concept and still win over a 48 bar story... But to be fair, go ahead and add your chunk to make your piece complete. I didn't mean to cause any confusion or misunderstandings.

We don't have the chunk written, that's the problem. We had the idea planned out (prior to starting to writ), started writing, realized 32 is a fuck of a lot less bars than it seems once we got to about 20, and made changes on the fly to be able to stay under the limit since it's in the rules.

So from that point on we had to change gears from the original plan. And I sure as hell don't want to go back and start from that point because you guys made a mistake.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too. I think we should still have the judges decide a winner, but it shouldn't really count for anything.

CP and I were talking about this earlier... I think the judges should still pick a winner for this round but the winner won't get red names. Admittedly, the whole tourney has been a clusterfuck since round 1. Didn't run as smoothly as possible, so it's only right if there's no name color prize.
