StayWideAwake wrote:"I should have done that"

it's should have. the latter doesn't work with the definition of "of".
StayWideAwake wrote:"I couldn't care less"
instead of "Could care less"

"couldn't" implies you don't care at all, therefore could not care less. "could" care less implies basically nothing, other than the fact that you do generally care to any imaginable degree.
They both work, it depends on the context.
StayWideAwake wrote:"Whether you like it or not"
instead of "either you like it or not"

"Either you like it or not" implies that you can like it or not like it. "Whether" implies that a certain thing "is", regardless of a person's opinion towards it.
whether = an inevitability, either = an option.

They do work depending on the context but people usually say "I could care less" when they really meant "I couldn't care less" (to say that they basically don't care)

Are you aware that you agreed with me on all of those?
was I not supposed to? was this like directed at me or something?

edit: my bad i read your first sentence of the post as "can I get some general knowledge", thought you wanted opinions.

Indeed.

The same reason a lot of Americans write better then instead of better than.

I've only seen foreigners make that mistake...
