The Mythos EP - (Snippet Released + NEW NEWS POSTED)

Re: The Mythos EP

Postby Jaba » Oct 7th, '14, 01:45

Hey guys. I am uploading a snippet for a new track on the EP called Back to the Rhyme. I have not recorded the 2nd or 3rd verses yet, just the 1st. It also has not been mixed or anything yet. Anyways, check it out, and if you can lemme know what you think and what I should improve on or if the verse is good to go. Thanks!

Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

Listened to snippet. Was pleasantly surprised. This is leagues above all of your other work, which I usually had issues listening to all the way through. Voice has improved, delivery is much clearer, flow is consistent. Work on your voice a bit, but besides that, I'm impressed.

Thx m8. The thing about Voices was that it's a good beat, it's just hard to flow to when you're just a casual rapper. The beat (which is just some random one I found off of Youtube lol) is a normal hip-hop one, which it seems I just naturally flow better to.

EDIT - Also, that first verse (the snippet) is written by myself. So, maybe I am improving on my writing as well?

TRACKLIST UPDATED
1. Mythos (intro)
2. Blown The Fuck Out
3. Assassin (ft. Mat Demaz)
4. Voices
5. Self-Destructive (Since The Beginning)
6. Can't Stand to Reflect
7. Madness In Harmony
8. Synthetic (Mechanical Man)
9. Back to the Rhyme
10. Ghost Town (ft. Eedee)
11. Comatose
12. When It Begins...
13. One Day (skit)

Drugged Up cut because the beat wasn't very open to fresh and new opportunities within the EP. Jaba all about that diversity yo.

Isn't this technically an album.. ?

Usually Eps are 3-8 tracks and under 30Min total

Well, this is only 11 songs (2 skits), so I have no fucking idea. I don't really care, I'm just not labeling it as an LP because it's 11 of the 25 tracks I have on The Mythos LP.

Why not rename it "Mythos: The Prelude" or something? If these songs will appear in the future on an LP then this could be taken as like a prelude mixtape or something.

Just a dumb suggestion, I really don't give a fuck about this being an EP or an LP or whatever. It's your music and you do what you do. It's just what I would have personally done.

honestly who cares what it's called? It's an online release from a relatively small artist. I don't think it matters much man.

anyways, the last snippet sounds better than most of the older stuff. You absolutely need a new mic though, the bad quality is something you're not gonna overcome without a new mic. You're still slurring a bit and you rush some lines and hold some words an awkwardly long amount of time to make up for it. Your writing on it is a lot better though. It's an improvement dude, just keep working at it. Maybe try to slow your delivery down a bit to work on enunciation
You'd be surprised...

Yeah, I find it a lot easier to rap over regular hip-hop beats, cause I can just flow to them rather than trying to overpower the intensity of the beat (Voices' beat is extremely hard to rap to, I'm sure anybody who tries would agree). Most of The Mythos EP is gonna be way more normal and smooth, I can tell you that from listening to all the beats.

Also, Python's supposed to do the ad-libs on BTTR. I have no idea how good his delivery is, but my ad-libs are just placeholders.
