100% agreed. Any time I see something in the 18-20 range I generally assume it's going to have a bunch of filler tracks on it.

Depends on if it's like 2 or 3 skits tbh

but yeah .. I prefer like 12 songs with maybe 2 or 3 fillers to make the tracklist have around 15 songs

I mean I feel like we would all prefer 20 tracks, the issue is just that the artist doesnt have 20 songs to make a strong ,well crafted album together. So theres tracks that arent as good to fill up space. I could be wrong, but thats certainly the case for me. The more the better if it still leads to a satisfying experience. The problem with that being you wouldnt know if it works until the album comes out.

I think generally speaking 14-16 songs is a good spot. 9-12 I feel like is a little too short for me. I know many great albums are around that length, but as a consumer I don't like the idea of paying $10-$15 for a 9 song album. I know its about quality, but as good as it can be, it just results in a less satisfying experience for me personally.

btw, first time I look at Royce's twitter... I know the guy who did the art, he's a local artist called Jeff Dekal... pretty cool that he's doing shit for names outside of the local rap scene :y:

Preemo sampled his material for all songs on this album.

Can't wait to hear some new Royce. Always been a fan. Definitely one of the most underrated rappers ever.

His discography is low key pretty damn great.

Rock City 2.0, Death is Certain, Street Hop, and Success is Certain are all pretty great. I also hold his Bar Exam tapes in high regard, 1 and 2 are up there for best tapes of all time imo.

I agree! Don't know about you but I'm a pretty big fan of his M.I.C. mixtape. Got some great tracks. I feel it's overshadowed by the Bar Exam mixtape but it's a great tape nonetheless.
