It's business.

Or maybe its obvious as fuck that he'd do the song tonight so he isnt. Kendrick said Em's advice was to use the element of surprise. He surprised us with "i", so why wouldnt he with this new song thats a "game changer" you know?

When was it EVER confirmed he was doing a new song? Some friend of a friend was in a listening session and yapped about King Kunta when he shouldn't have. Hell, we don't even know if that's the actual name of the song. I've learned that you've don't take any supposed release dates or world premières for granted. Somebody somewhere along the line gets the whole thing misconstrued.

"Here’s an insight from a middle-aged, white critic— Kendrick Lamar’s performances here reminded me of David Byrne’s in Stop Making Sense. There’s an element of performance art here—Lamar knows the effects he’s going for, with his sweat-soaked, jerky movements that seem to wring his lyrics from deep inside—but it’s no less electric because of it. Didn’t know anything about the guy before tonight, but I’m thinking about buying a CD (because, again, I’m old). This was easily as compelling as Prince’s performance last week." - From A.V. Club

s80 is great but absolutely nowhere near gkmc.

the album as a whole isn't as cohesive as GKMC thematically, musically or stylistically. Kendrick's style also became more refined, emotional, and powerful on GKMC.

The beats are also way better on GKMC. Anyone that has listened to the history of hip-hop will notice how his backing tracks have seamlessly integrated late 80s/early 90s "Golden Age" production touchstones with modern atmospheres, giving the album a timeless sound.

I prefer GKMC to S8... Has way more better songs. S8 has songs like No make up and the spiteful chant which atre just ehhh. GKMC has a story as well and is told like a masterpiece.

Kendrick Lamar Pays Homage To Method Man During SNL Performance (VIDEO)

Image

It appears Kendrick used the moment to pay homage to Method Man’s debut solo album Tical. November 15 also happens to be the 20 year anniversary of the release of the Wu-Tang Clan member’s LP. Kendrick’s contacts and hair were reminiscent of how Meth appeared in the video for his classic track “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” featuring Mary J. Blige.
