New computer

im getting a new computer/laptop for university, where do I start, I've been looking around the net and the two possibilities that look good to me are:

I like both, can I please have a second opinion(s) that I'm not going to get ripped off here lol.

Buy one with at least

2gb RAM support.

a

256 Mb video card

and a fast processor.

Trust me, you'll need it, in 2007 ... since Windows Vista is gonna come out soon.

ummm...to tell the truth, they both kinda suck :sweating:

the processors are slow as hell(only 1.8 and 1.5 GHz). i would suggest getting something around 2.8GHz or higher. also the stuff like ASP said. 2 GB RAM(although 1GB will do well) and a 256MB video card(very important). even though i dont like any of them, i would choose the desktop over the laptop

Just remember with Graphics cards, the amount of memory isn't important but the clock speed is. It's why many 512mb video cards can be outperformed by 128mb card. After all, if a card isn't fast enough to make use of the memory it just sits there unused.

(Oh and don't buy from PC World
- from what I've heard Mesh makes builds a good pc).
