When Eminem Disappeared

What Did You Do?

Well Eminems music was all i ever listed to from about age of 12 or 13 i hardly knew what most of the things he spoke about but as you grow you learn and his music grew on me, then when he disappeared i got really into finding all of his bootlegs and rare tracks and once i got everything of his my friend led me into Rock/Metal so the few years of Eminem disappearance i lost track of rap all together and became a metalhead but Eminem was always the person i put before anyother musical rock/metal artist i herd, and now that his new albums coming out i know i will go back to loving him all over again, funny too i went from soft Rock to really heavy deep Metalcore music start to finish and now Eminem returning ill go back to him and can't wait until his new album. Thats basically what i did in between his retiring time off.

My preference in music didnt change at all because of em takin a break from rap, but i did start listening 2 a lil bit more rock/metal around 2005-06. I still listened 2 em's shit tho, I'll be bumpin infinite til the day that i die. i've always liked rap more than rock tho, and i still listened 2 my usual shit (pac, biggie, nas, lupe, big l, royce, em, proof, esham, d12, bone thugz, rakim, big daddy, ll, soo much more). the only rapper that ive been really bumpin from the new skool is T.I. i luv dudes like lupe fiasco, but he isnt really a completely mainstream rapper cuz no one really knows how fuckin dope this dude is.

by the way, in 2005 he dopped shake that and when im gone, and in 06 he dropped the re-up, hes only really been away from rap for a couple years. and in the last few years, rap has really, really missed him

I got a lot more into Eminem, then switched to Metal and a little Emo, then into Classic 90's Rap, waiting for Relapse.

Eminem was always #1

It made me stop listening to pretty much mostly Eminem/D12 music and actually branch out and try other music, both hip hop and non-hip hop

So quite a good thing. I find i don't care half as much now.

I have always been a dedicated rap listner, but when Em left I started to dig some underground shit out. I started to listen to Lupe Fiasco when I came across of his ''lose your self'' freestyle.
I kinda find it a good thing that Em took a break, I became more open minded.
I even started to listen to some UK rap, even Grime. Ofcourse I still bump his older work, but not that much as I used to.

I think Eminem is a type of musician that is liked by fans of many music types, he can have the aggresive side that heavy metal etc. fans like, and also the more poetic songs & funny ones. But Em always comes first before any musician, when he disapeared i was just listening & found Em material that i have never heard before like freestyles etc. so it kinda seems asif his music has always been there :8)

Being an Eminem fan put me on to Joe Budden and countless of other artists. He fell the fuck off but his music is like Kim, I can't get enough.

Chet Starr wrote:I did pretty much the same thing. But I was slowly getting into rock before Encore. Then Encore came out, and I pretty much left rap and listened to tons of rock. Then I came back to rap, and learned they don't have to be named "eminem" to be good.

Now I love pretty much any kind of music :smoking:

not much of a eminem fan anymore, but I'm a tad bit excited about the new album

pretty well exactly the same for me... i used to listen to 100% rap.. then shortly after encore i stopped listning to alot of it and switched to rock. now its probly like 60% rock - 40% rap. mostly due to the fact that rap keeps getting worse and worse.. i cant remember the last time i listened to radio rap.. its just complete garb these days.
