the same thing happens when a famous person dies or a disaster occurs. national mourning, flags go down and radio plays shit music for 3 days. it's because he's a pop-culture product, people know and like him.

when the Pope John Paul II died, we had national mourning week, countless mass funeral services, black-white main websites and first pages in the newspapers, no happy music in the radio, no music on Viva channel, everyone was apathetic and sad. i never said it was wrong, because it's not; what i want to say is that it's normal that people go "awww that's so sad" because it's all over the news and i guess it won't change. deal with it.

you bring an interesting point to my attention Chet. it's true that if we did mourn every average joe we'd forever be mourning. but why go out of your way to mourn for somebody that doesn't directly affect you in the first place? i don't mean you shold be an ass about it. be sympathetic for people's time in need. but the world is too big with time being too short to feel sorry for everyone else.

i'm not saying i go out and mourn everything that happens. i just came in, read the article and posted my thoughts. i'm not this kind of obsessed fan, who cries because Eminem broke his leg. but i feel sorry for Xzibit, because he lost his son. it's not like i'm gonna go slit my wrists right now, but what's wrong about having a little compassion?..

but the world is too big with time being too short to feel sorry for everyone else.

i'm not feeling sorry for everyone else, but i try to think about other people and the way i can help them - maybe it's because i'm studying paramedicine and helping people is my priority. the world is too beautiful to think about your own ass only.

even if they don't - i've got a clear conscience. it's not like i need to help people personally and know their names, ages, sex and shit. but just think about all the foundations, charity organisations, organs/blood/marrow donors - it's not like people don't give a fuck about others. me and my friends are blood donors too. no one from my family and friend needs it [thank God], but it might help someone, so why not? i might need it one day too. what goes around comes around and that's it.
