I think if anyone has been a fan of eminem since he came out with SSLP and Forgot about dre...they should be disappointed in this song.

Not Afraid sounds so real compared to everything we've been fed since that whole Relapse comeback started (Deja Vu and Beautiful aside).

I think whats strange here is you have people who have put the smallest of targets up for Eminem's music these days and he has to somehow take a his bow and arrow and from Detroit, be able to hit the bulls eye. GTFOH. This song was made for all YOU who complained and you still complain.

No I'm not skeptical. With the words of Mr. Porter, his description of the album and the "Despicable" freestyle, I have high hopes.

His emotional tracks are always somewhat watered down or simplified in lyricism. He's sacrificing skill for content. Yes the production was crap on "Not Afraid" but that's Boi-1da for you. He only has one more song on the album anyway thank goodness.

But aside from that, the lyricism is on-point, flow is pretty nice and the chorus is great. But like you said, 1st single is no indication with Em. Album could be ANYTHING and Em said it's a range of moods.

Honestly Eminem overshadows the not so good production. It isn't that the beat is bad, it's just generic for a lot of people. His lyrics for me are strong enough to kill the fucking beat.
